Over a dozen hands-on Theatre practitioners challenge the students to work to professional standards in an atmosphere of creative collaboration. Working with such seasoned professionals means high expectations and a demanding workload, but offers the opportunity to perform with the best at the very highest level.

Theatre is at the heart of the Hurtwood community and every year the full range of Performing Arts – acting, singing and dancing – is show-cased in a variety of high-profile productions. Students work with West End set designers, costumiers, musicians, musical directors, choreographers and lighting and sound engineers to produce shows of a truly professional standard.

Hurtwood is very much in touch with theatre in the outside world and students benefit from working with visiting professional companies and guest tutors from film, stage and television. It prepares students for auditions, has long-established links with the major drama schools and the leading theatrical agents and has launched several successful acting careers.

The academic results are outstanding, but, more importantly, the Hurtwood Theatre department is the perfect place for students to develop their potential both professionally and personally.
